6-Day Gombe Stream: Jane Goodall's Research Site — The World's Most Famous Chimpanzees

Air Tanzania departs Dar es Salaam at 05:40 for Kigoma Airport — approximately 1.5 hours. From Kigoma Airport, a 30-minute road transfer to Kibirizi port on the northern Kigoma waterfront. First Gombe chimpanzee trekking day. An afternoon walk to the Kakombe Valley waterfall for guests who missed it on Day 4, or an extended lake swim and guided snorkel in the rocky shallows for guests who prefer to spend the final afternoon on the water. The Gombe research station’s final evening presence — visible across the dark shore, the forest sounds active above the lakeshore camp — closes the programme’s last full day.

The 10:00 AM boat departs Gombe — the only daily service — and the 2-hour journey south arrives at Kibirizi port by 12:00 PM. A 30-minute road transfer to Kigoma Airport by approximately 12:30 PM.
