Sentrim Tsavo Camp is a mid-range tented camp inside Tsavo East National Park, operated by Sentrim Hotels & Lodges the same Kenyan brand that operates camps in the Maasai Mara and Amboseli. The camp is situated near Buchuma Gate in the southeastern part of Tsavo East, in an area of open savannah that is excellent for wildlife viewing. Inspired by the designs of early pioneer camps, the property has a rustic, frontier character that suits the vast and wildly untamed landscape of Tsavo East Kenya’s largest and oldest national park.
Twenty-five en-suite tented rooms offer comfortable accommodation with hot showers, tea and coffee making facilities, and African-themed décor in single, deluxe, and standard configurations. A swimming pool with a Jacuzzi, a restaurant and bar, a spa, and a conference room serve guests between activities. Game drives into Tsavo East, guided nature walks, and cultural excursions to nearby Taita and Kamba communities are available. Full board rates including all meals make Sentrim Tsavo a straightforward and well-priced choice for a Tsavo East safari experience.
Tsavo is served by several airstrips. Tsavo West’s Finch Hattons Airstrip and Kilaguni Airstrip are reached by charter flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport (WIL) in approximately one hour. Tsavo East is served by Voi and Manyani airstrips. Scheduled charters operate with SafariLink and Air Kenya. By road, Tsavo is approximately 4–5 hours from Nairobi and 4–6 hours from Mombasa along the A109 Nairobi-Mombasa highway. The SGR Standard Gauge Railway connects Nairobi and Mombasa with stations at Mtito Andei and Voi, both close to park gates.
