Nimali Mara is a boutique eco-luxury camp by Nimali Africa, tucked into the kopjes and boulders of the Kogatende area in the extreme north of the Serengeti, 30 minutes from the Mara River. The camp is a chameleon by design its bedouin-style canvas roofs, solid stone frames, and glass-enclosed walls blend seamlessly into the rocky hillside terrain, and ten suites are positioned at varying points across the kopje to maximise views and privacy. The Mara River crossings from July to October are the primary draw, and the camp is ideally placed for game drives to multiple river crossing points.
Each suite is enclosed on all sides by floor-to-ceiling glass doors, creating a 270-degree connection with the surrounding wilderness while maintaining the privacy and comfort of a luxury interior. Copper bathtubs and swing beds on the private decks are signature details, and the infinity pool set within natural rock formations offers one of the finest views in the northern Serengeti. Nimali Mara is open throughout the year except April and May.
Eight tented suites and two honeymoon suites (the latter convertible to family use), each with glass-fronted walls, private plunge pool, copper freestanding bathtub, swing bed, king or twin beds, and en-suite shower. The infinity pool is set within natural rock formations.
Nimali Mara is accessed via Kogatende airstrip in the far northern Serengeti, approximately 30–35 minutes by road from the camp. Scheduled and charter flights connect Arusha with Kogatende in approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. The camp is closed in April and May; the team manages all airstrip transfers throughout the open season.
Note: Nimali Mara is closed April and May.
