Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge is a coffee-estate lodge nestled against the Ngorongoro Forest Reserve, set between Rhotia village and Karatu town with views over the coffee estate and the majestic Ngorongoro forest. The lodge is run by the Bougainvillea Group and offers 20 spacious cottage rooms plus three family suites, each with hand-crafted furniture, a private veranda, and en-suite bathrooms featuring a slipper bathtub and outdoor shower. The large veranda of the main building overlooks a swimming pool and spa, providing a welcoming space for afternoon tea or evening cocktails after game drives.
Coffee tours of the adjacent plantation are among the lodge’s signature activities, allowing guests to follow the bean-to-cup journey at source before their morning safari. The lodge is ideally positioned for excursions to the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park, and Lake Eyasi.
Twenty cottage rooms each have king-size and queen-size beds under mosquito nets, en-suite bathrooms with slipper bathtub and outdoor shower, a private veranda with coffee-estate views, and a fireplace.
Lake Manyara Airport (LKY) is approximately 20km from the lodge. Charter flights from Arusha and Kilimanjaro serve this airstrip. The lodge is located between Rhotia village and Karatu town. Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is approximately 3 hours by road.
