Mara Mara Tented Lodge is Tanganyika Wilderness Camps’ (TWC) step into the higher end of the Serengeti market, positioned in the Kogatende area of the northern Serengeti close to the Mara River. Designed in a fresh modern African style with clean lines and a light, welcoming ambiance, the lodge represents a significant upgrade from TWC’s mid-range portfolio and marks the company’s first genuine luxury property in one of the most sought-after wildlife locations on the continent.
The lodge is divided into two separate camps North and South each with its own main house incorporating a lounge, restaurant, and swimming pool. This twin-camp structure keeps the overall atmosphere intimate despite the lodge’s total capacity of 24 tents and 4 bungalows. The Mara River is 30 minutes away, and from June through November the camp is ideally positioned for the Great Migration river crossings. Resident year-round wildlife is also strong in this northern area. Rooms feature bathtubs and outdoor showers, and family tents with interconnecting rooms serve groups travelling together.

The lodge is located in the Kogatende area of the northern Serengeti, approximately 20–30 minutes by road from Kogatende airstrip. Scheduled and charter flights from Arusha and Kilimanjaro serve Kogatende in approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. The Tanganyika Wilderness Camps team manages all airstrip transfers. The lodge is also approximately 24km from the Tabora B gate into the northern Serengeti.
