Labalaba Migration Camp brands itself the most luxurious mobile tented camp in the Serengeti, and the evidence is compelling. Its owners Xavier and Julie Brisson, passionate collectors and adventurers have created an environment that evokes a 19th-century cabinet of curiosities: fossils, meteorites, dinosaur bones, and a mammoth tooth are displayed alongside Ralph Lauren and Andrew Martin fabrics draped from tent ceilings, antique explorer furniture, and Persian rugs. The effect is sophisticated and theatrical in the best possible sense.
The camp moves three times a year from the southern calving grounds at Ndutu in December to March, to the western corridor at Masabi from April to July, and north to Kogatende from July through November for the Mara River crossings. Each move is completed in approximately six days, and the camp arrives at the next location with no trace left behind. Ten tents accommodate a maximum of twenty guests, ensuring complete intimacy. Organic meals, a tented gym, full-board rates, and private vehicle game drives make the experience self-contained and seamless.
Ten luxury tented suites with private verandas, freestanding bathtubs, organic cotton satin bed linens, en-suite facilities, and the signature cabinet-of-curiosities décor. A tented gym and open-sided lounge-dining area with campfire complete the camp. Maximum 20 guests.
