Kwetu Nairobi, Curio Collection by Hilton is a five-star boutique hotel on Peponi Road in the Westlands/Kitisuru area of Nairobi, occupying a position between the Karura Forest (five minutes’ walk) and the Westlands entertainment and retail hub. The Swahili word ‘kwetu’ means ‘our home’ or ‘our place’ a name that reflects the hotel’s ambition to offer a warm, characterful alternative to the generic corporate brand hotels that dominate Nairobi’s business district. The property is built around a converted colonial-era structure dating to the 1800s, blending historic architecture with contemporary design, rooftop dining, and a forested garden setting that delivers a distinctly Nairobi sense of place.
One hundred and two rooms and suites are arranged across five central blocks, each with forest, pool, or tropical courtyard views. Bathrooms feature rainfall showers or deep soaking tubs with designer toiletries; in-room technology includes 50-inch Smart TVs with Netflix. Six restaurants and bars span the full dining arc: Meko for breakfast, Upepo as a rooftop restaurant with views over Nairobi, the 1893 Brew Bar, and several al fresco seating areas. A gym with Technogym equipment, an outdoor pool, a spa, and ten meeting rooms serve leisure and business travellers. Karura Forest for horse-riding, jogging, and cycling is within a five-minute walk.
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) serves Nairobi with direct flights from London, Amsterdam, Dubai, Doha, Istanbul, Addis Ababa, and many other international hubs. The hotel arranges airport transfers; journey time from JKIA to the hotel varies 20–45 minutes depending on location and traffic. Wilson Airport (WIL) serves domestic and safari charter flights.
