Katambuga House is an intimate six-room lodge set on the edge of the Mringa Coffee Estate near Arusha Airport, operated by Entara a company committed to conservation and socially responsible safari practices. Opened in 2017, the property combines contemporary Tanzanian design with genuine warmth: original photography and art line the walls, the gardens are planted with jacaranda and colourful flowers that attract abundant birdlife, and on a clear day Mount Meru is visible across the estate. The overall atmosphere is that of a thoughtful, convivial home rather than a commercial hotel.
Meals are prepared to a high standard, with a blend of international and Tanzanian flavours served at the dining table, on the veranda, or by the poolside. The team of professional guides can arrange walking safaris, 4×4 drives, horse riding, hot air balloon flights, and helicopter excursions for guests wishing to explore the northern circuit during their stay.
Four rooms in the main house and two interconnecting rooms in a family cottage offer spacious, airy accommodation with private terraces overlooking the gardens. All rooms include en-suite bathrooms and ceiling fans.
Arusha Airport (ARK) is approximately 5 minutes by road. Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is 60 to 90 minutes by road. The lodge can arrange transfers from both airports on request.
