Angama Amboseli is the newest lodge from the Angama family opened in November 2024 and positioned in the Kimana Sanctuary on the eastern edge of the Amboseli ecosystem, in the shadow of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. The sanctuary is a critical wildlife corridor connecting Amboseli National Park with Tsavo West, used by one of Africa’s densest elephant populations along with giraffe, buffalo, lion, cheetah, and wild dog. The Angama brand’s signature approach exceptional owner-operated hospitality, outstanding guiding, curated experiences, and a deep commitment to community and conservatio has been transplanted with precision from the acclaimed Angama Mara to this completely different Kilimanjaro setting.
Ten en-suite tented suites, each with panoramic views of Kilimanjaro and the Amboseli plains, combine the Angama aesthetic floor-to-ceiling glass frontage, private decking, and warm locally inspired interiors with the distinctive character of the Amboseli landscape. Full board rates include accommodation, all meals, local drinks, game drives in the Kimana Sanctuary and Amboseli National Park, guided walks, laundry, and airstrip transfers. The 2,300-hectare Kimana Sanctuary ensures intimate wildlife encounters without the vehicle congestion of Amboseli’s main park roads. Cultural visits, bush meals, and conservation experiences with the Big Life Foundation are integrated into the experience.
Amboseli Airport (ASV) is served by scheduled charter flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport (WIL), a journey of approximately 45–60 minutes. The camp arranges road transfers from the airstrip, which typically include a game drive en route to camp a superb introduction to the ecosystem. By road from Nairobi the journey takes approximately 4 hours on the A104 highway. Private charters from JKIA can be arranged directly to Amboseli.
