About Tumbili Lodge

Tumbili Lodge is a small boutique hotel on the quiet outskirts of Arusha, set within exceptional tropical gardens that meander past ancient trees, ponds, flowering borders, and a swimming pool all framed by views of Mount Meru. The gardens alone set the lodge apart: extensively planted and carefully maintained, they have attracted the admiration of travellers and naturalists alike. The lodge has also long been a preferred Arusha residence for primatologist Dr Jane Goodall, a quiet endorsement of the property’s character and connection to nature.

The nine rooms and garden cottages are individually furnished with locally crafted pieces and warm African textiles. The à la carte restaurant serves meals either in a rustic indoor space or at the outdoor terrace around a beautiful pond both options suited to the lodge’s unhurried pace.
