The Manor at Ngorongoro by Elewana occupies 1,500 acres of Arabica coffee plantation in the verdant highlands south of the Ngorongoro Crater. Its Cape Dutch-style architecture, period antiques, log-burning fireplaces, and Victorian-style bathrooms create an atmosphere more reminiscent of a country estate than a conventional safari lodge. The property is part of the Elewana Collection and stands as one of the most distinctive properties on Tanzania’s northern circuit.
The Ngorongoro Crater is accessible for day excursions, and the lodge also offers horse riding on the estate, guided coffee roasting experiences, walking tours, and cultural excursions. The combination of highland setting and classic Afro-European elegance makes it a natural choice for honeymooners and travellers seeking character and refinement alongside wildlife.
Eighteen Manor Cottage Suites are positioned around the main house, each with a private entrance, sun terrace, and double-sided fireplace. The Stable Cottage accommodates families or groups of up to six, with interconnecting rooms and a private courtyard.
Guests can fly from Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to Lake Manyara Airstrip (LKY), approximately 30 minutes by air, followed by a road transfer to Karatu. The lodge team coordinates all transfers on request.
