Suricata Boma Lodge is an eco-conscious property in Mto wa Mbu, centred around two ancient centenary baobab trees that anchor the heart of the grounds. Each of the lodge’s bungalows is inspired by a different Tanzanian wild animal, creating an individually themed collection built from locally sourced materials and designed to complement the natural setting. Sunset views over the Rift Valley from the pool and terrace area are among the most dramatic in the region, and the property’s proximity to Lake Manyara National Park — minutes away — makes it a strategically placed luxury base for the northern circuit.
The facilities include a pool with lake views, a spa, gym, restaurant serving African cuisine, and an entertainment programme that has included acrobatics shows and live music evenings. The lodge’s eco-design ethos extends to an on-site farm supplying the kitchen with seasonal produce, and the staff’s warm hospitality has been widely noted by guests.
Bungalows are spacious, individually designed, and equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, mini-bar, and en-suite bathrooms. All have private balconies or terraces and garden or lake views.
Lake Manyara Airport (LKY) is approximately 6.8 miles from the lodge. Charter flights from Arusha and Kilimanjaro are available. The lodge offers a paid shuttle service from the airstrip.
