Sirikoi Lodge is an intimate, family-owned luxury safari lodge in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of East Africa’s most celebrated conservation success stories, home to 10% of Kenya’s remaining black rhino population, large numbers of white rhino, and northern Kenya’s characteristic wildlife including Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and Somali ostrich. The lodge was conceived and designed by Willie and Sue Roberts, well-known names in Kenya’s safari tradition, and opened in 2000. It sits on a private 7,000-acre area within the 250-square-kilometre conservancy, overlooking a spring-fed waterhole and salt lick that attracts elephants, zebra, buffalo, and a remarkable variety of wildlife day and night. The lodge has been recognised on the Condé Nast Traveller Gold List for two consecutive years.
Four luxury tented rooms each raised on a wooden deck with a private veranda, Victorian-style freestanding bathtub with savanna views, rain shower, fireplace, and double or twin bed configuration are complemented by the two-bedroom Sirikoi Cottage (ideal for families or two couples) and the three-bedroom Sirikoi House (exclusive use, with its own private chef, safari vehicle, guide, and team). An 18-metre infinity pool overlooks the waterhole. Activities include game drives (day and night), horse riding and camel safaris, guided walks, biplane flights, fly camping, visits to the Lewa tracker dog unit, and the Ngare Ndare Forest canopy walkway and waterfall.
Laikipia is reached by a 40–60 minute charter flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport (WIL) to Nanyuki Airport (NYK) or a private airstrip on or near the conservancy. SafariLink and Air Kenya both serve the Nanyuki route. The camp arranges transfers from the airstrip. By road from Nairobi the journey takes 3–4 hours via the A2 highway north through Nanyuki.
