Singita Sasakwa is the grandest property in the Singita Grumeti portfolio — a stately Edwardian manor house built atop Sasakwa Hill, with sweeping 360-degree views over the open Serengeti plains and the 350,000-acre private Singita Grumeti Reserve. The lodge draws on the golden age of East African safari in its architecture and design: wraparound verandas, silver candelabras, antique collectables, Persian rugs on polished parquet floors, and glittering chandeliers, softened by the warm hospitality and unhurried rhythm of the reserve.
Ten private cottages offer configurations from one to four bedrooms, and every cottage has its own heated infinity plunge pool overlooking the plains. Butler service is discreet and personalised throughout. Beyond the main lodge and its main swimming pool and tennis and archery courts, Singita Sasakwa is home to an 18-horse Equestrian Centre — unique in the Serengeti — and a Bush Spa offering signature African treatments. The children’s Mini Rangers programme, managed by expert naturalists, provides a structured yet genuinely fun wildlife education for young guests.
Nine private cottages in 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom configurations; plus the Hillside Suite, a standalone luxury suite for two set away from the main lodge with its own private vehicle, field guide, and rim-flow pool. All cottages feature en-suite bathrooms with indoor shower and bath, separate lounge areas, fireplaces, private decks, and heated infinity plunge pools.
Grumeti Air operates scheduled and charter flights from Arusha and Kilimanjaro directly to the Singita Sasakwa airstrip, a 10-minute drive from the lodge. Daily direct flights avoid the usual multi-stop bush plane routing, and guests are met by the Singita team from the moment they board. For guests continuing to Singita Mara River Tented Camp in the north, it is a scenic 15-minute flight from Sasakwa to Lamai airstrip.
