Serengeti Sametu Camp is operated by Karibu Camps & Lodges and positioned on the eastern edge of the central Serengeti plains, a few metres from the Ngare Nanyuki River. The camp is purposefully sited away from the main tourist circuit — the nearest camp of any quality is over an hour’s drive, which means guests enjoy game drives and wildlife sightings with extraordinary exclusivity. Big cats are the camp’s signature: the surrounding terrain of open grass plains with kopje outcrops and the Ngare Nanyuki River creates ideal habitat for cheetah, lion, and leopard, and the camp consistently delivers exceptional predator sightings.
Eighteen spacious safari tents (8 regular, 8 suites, 2 family) offer nearly 60m² of interior space each, with private terraces, marble-topped vanities, en-suite hot showers, and views of the river and plains. A central lounge, dining area, swimming pool, and bush meal and balloon programmes complete a genuine luxury experience in one of the park’s least crowded and most wildlife-rich sections.
Eighteen tents: 8 regular tents, 8 suites, and 2 family tents. Each has a private hot shower, flush toilet, sitting area, and veranda. Suites have lounge areas, fireplaces, and separate seating decks.
Seronera Airstrip is 14 miles from the camp. Charter and scheduled flights from Arusha Airport (ARK) take approximately 1 hour to Seronera. The camp arranges all ground transfers from the airstrip.
