Oliver’s Camp is an Asilia Africa property set in a remote, exclusive area of Tarangire National Park, far from the main tourist routes. With just ten tented suites, the camp operates at the kind of intimacy that allows for deeply personalised service and wildlife encounters that feel genuinely private. It is particularly celebrated for its walking safari programme: guided on foot through Tarangire’s landscapes, guests encounter the park’s ecology at a pace and proximity that game drives cannot match. The elephant population here is among the most concentrated in East Africa, and the seasonal river and surrounding baobab landscape make this one of Tanzania’s most visually distinctive parks.
The camp’s design uses natural materials and canvas to sit lightly in the landscape, and the solar-powered operation reflects Asilia Africa’s environmental commitments. Night game drives within the private area are another exclusive offering not available in the main park. Oliver’s Camp suits experienced safari travellers seeking depth of experience over breadth.
Ten tented suites and a family tent are positioned on elevated platforms with private verandas overlooking the bush. Each has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and hot shower, king-size bed, and quality safari furniture.
Charter flights from Arusha Airport (ARK) or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to Kuro Airstrip inside Tarangire National Park take approximately 20 minutes. A short ground transfer follows. The Asilia Africa reservations team can assist with flight coordination.
