Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is an intimate tented camp operated by Asilia Africa, positioned in the wilderness zone of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and the last refuge of the two surviving northern white rhinos. Asilia Africa’s approach at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp reflects their broader brand philosophy: small, thoughtfully designed camps that prioritise authentic wildlife immersion, high-quality guiding, and genuine conservation contribution over luxury showcase. The camp offers a genuinely adventurous and personal experience in one of Kenya’s most conservation-important landscapes.
A small collection of tented rooms with en-suite bathrooms, comfortable beds, and private verandas provide a cosy and connected-to-nature base. The communal mess area is intimate and sociable, with meals served around a central fire and guides who make conservation learning an integral part of the daily experience. Activities include day and night game drives, guided walks with armed rangers, chimpanzee sanctuary visits, northern white rhino sanctuary access, and lion tracking by radio collar. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy also includes a cattle enterprise that coexists with the wildlife, creating a fascinating landscape where pastoral Kenya and wild Africa share the same ground.
Laikipia is reached by a 40–60 minute charter flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport (WIL) to Nanyuki Airport (NYK) or a private airstrip on or near the conservancy. SafariLink and Air Kenya both serve the Nanyuki route. The camp arranges transfers from the airstrip. By road from Nairobi the journey takes 3–4 hours via the A2 highway north through Nanyuki.
