Nimali Tarangire is a high-end tented camp occupying a private concession on the eastern boundary of Tarangire National Park, within the Randilen Wildlife Management Area. Eight elegantly appointed tented suites overlook a seasonal riverbed from their private decks, positioned among acacia and ancient baobab trees in a setting that is both intimate and genuinely wild. The camp’s small size means that service is personal and game viewing access is unhurried — walking safaris, night game drives, and a unique underground hide for watching animals at the waterhole are among the exclusive activities available from the concession.
Tarangire is celebrated for its extraordinary elephant herds, and the camp’s position on the riverbank ensures frequent sightings from the lounge and pool areas. A spa, fire-pit boma, and al-fresco dining under the stars complete an experience that rivals anything on the northern circuit for authenticity and design quality. The camp is closed only in April and May during the long rains.
Eight tented suites include two family suites with connecting lounges and private plunge pools. All suites have private decks overlooking the riverbed and en-suite bathrooms with hardwood fittings. The design fuses contemporary organic styling with Maasai-inspired artefacts and natural materials.
Fly-in access is available from Arusha Airport (ARK) to Kuro Airstrip inside Tarangire National Park (approximately 20 minutes flying time), followed by a short drive of around 20 minutes to the main gate and then into the concession. Lake Manyara Airstrip (LKY) is also used, with a ground transfer of approximately 1 hour. Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is the major international gateway.
