Mara Maisha Camp is a mid-range tented safari camp in the greater Maasai Mara ecosystem, offering comfortable and affordable access to one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. The name ‘Maisha’ is the Swahili word for ‘life’ a fitting reference to the extraordinary biodiversity and ecological vitality of the Mara. The camp is positioned to provide strong year-round wildlife viewing with proximity to the Mara’s core game areas, and the guides are experienced local professionals committed to delivering meaningful, educational encounters with the ecosystem.
Well-furnished tents with comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms, and private verandas with savannah views provide the core accommodation. A pool, restaurant serving international and African cuisine, bar, and a welcoming communal area with evening bonfires complete the facilities. Game drives, hot-air balloon safaris, guided walks, and Maasai cultural visits can all be arranged from the camp. Full board is included in the rates. The camp represents genuine value for the Maasai Mara: the wildlife is the same as at the premium properties, and the experience — while less elaborately furnished is authentic and well-managed.
The Maasai Mara is reached by a 45-minute scheduled charter flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport (WIL). Multiple daily flights are available on shared charters, operated by several Kenyan carriers. International travellers arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) can transfer to Wilson Airport or arrange a private charter flight directly to the camp’s nearest airstrip. Road access from Nairobi takes approximately 5–6 hours and is not recommended except for the most budget-conscious travellers.
