Lake Burunge Tented Lodge is operated by Tanganyika Wilderness Camps (TWC Tanzania) and occupies a position on the shores of Lake Burunge, directly adjacent to Tarangire National Park. The lodge sits within one of Tanzania’s most productive wildlife corridors — the Tarangire–Manyara ecosystem — where elephant migration routes, large resident herds of buffalo, and hundreds of bird species make game viewing reliable across seasons. The TWC portfolio is well regarded for its positioning and operational standards, and the lodge benefits from that proven infrastructure.
The setting combines lakeshore atmosphere with proximity to the park gate, making it a practical and atmospheric mid-range option for northern circuit itineraries that include Tarangire. The tented accommodation, dining area, and bar all look out over the bush and water, giving a genuine safari ambience without the prices of the park’s luxury camps.
Tents are pitched with views over the lake or surrounding bush and come in Standard and Deluxe configurations, with a Family Tent available for larger groups. All units include en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning.
Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is the nearest international airport, approximately 2.5 hours by road. Charter flights to Kuro Airstrip inside Tarangire National Park are available and reduce transfer time considerably. The lodge is managed by Tanganyika Wilderness Camps, who can advise on flight options.
