Lake Burunge Baobab Tented Lodge is an atmospheric tented camp operated by Tanganyika Wilderness Camps (TWC Tanzania), set among baobab trees on the shores of Lake Burunge adjacent to Tarangire National Park. The lodge sits within the Lake Burunge Wildlife Management Area, which serves as a critical corridor for Tarangire’s seasonal elephant migrations. Its character is defined by the ancient baobab landscape and the tranquil lakeshore setting, offering a more immersive and intimate environment than lodges positioned directly inside the park gates.
TWC Tanzania’s operational track record in the northern circuit means that the service, guiding, and logistics at the lodge are well-proven. Guests have easy access to Tarangire National Park for game drives, and the surrounding management area permits walking and night drives not available within the park itself.
Tented suites are positioned with views of the baobabs and lake, with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, and quality furnishings. A family suite configuration is available for larger groups.
Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is approximately 2.5 hours by road. Charter flights to Kuro Airstrip inside Tarangire National Park can reduce transfer time. The lodge is part of the Tanganyika Wilderness Camps portfolio and they can advise on fly-in options.
