Lahia Tented Lodge is a Tanganyika Wilderness Camps (TWC) property perched atop a prominent hill on the Musabi Plains of the central-western Serengeti, offering arguably the most commanding 360-degree panoramic view of any lodge in the ecosystem. Looking west toward the Grumeti area and east toward the central Seronera, the main lodge’s raised deck captures the full sweep of the Serengeti from sunrise to sunset, with wildebeest herds frequently visible on the plains below during the migration season from April through July.
The lodge is run entirely on 100% solar energy one of the first TWC properties to achieve this and its hilltop position ensures cooling breezes even during the warmest months. Activities centre on morning and evening game drives across the Musabi Plains and beyond to the Grumeti River; hot-air balloon safaris are available at extra cost. The infinity pool and fire pit in the main area are natural gathering points at day’s end. The lodge is well-suited to couples and families seeking good value and genuine remoteness.
Twenty-five en-suite tented rooms built on raised wooden platforms, each with a private terrace and views over the Serengeti. Bathrooms feature a freestanding bathtub and outdoor shower. A family tent connects two interconnected tented rooms.
Charter and scheduled flights connect Arusha with the Serengeti’s various airstrips. The closest are Kirawira airstrip (approximately 32km) and Seronera airstrip (approximately 50km), both reached in under an hour by road. The camp can arrange transfers from either airstrip.
