Kisiwa on the Beach is a tranquil all-villa luxury resort on Paje Beach one of Zanzibar’s best-known kitesurfing and snorkelling destinations on the southeast coast and sister property to Kisiwa House in Stone Town. The resort was built and designed on Feng Shui principles, with 22 spacious villas arranged among coconut palms and lush tropical gardens that form a calm, private buffer between each accommodation. The villas are elegantly furnished with Zanzibar-inspired decor: carved dark wood furniture, mosquito-net beds, soaking baths and walk-in showers, private patios or verandas, and sea, pool, or garden views. The design philosophy ‘Tranquil, Idyllic, Intimate’ runs through every aspect of the property.
Room categories include 11 Starehe Luxury Villas (garden/partial sea view), 6 Bahari Seaview Villas (closer to the ocean), and 3 Bahari Grand Beachfront Villas (directly on the sand with sweeping ocean panoramas). The Bembe Restaurant a thatched al fresco dining space overlooking the central pool and ocean serves a daily-changing cyclic menu drawing on fresh local seafood and Zanzibar’s rich spice heritage. The Poa Bar and Blossom Spa (designed as an eco retreat on the edge of the Jozani Forest, 2 treatment rooms, hot stone massage, and Inaya handmade organic treatments) complete the wellness offer. The resort is closed in May. Paje is renowned for kitesurfing, with the Zanzibar Kite Paradise centre next door.
Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) is approximately 40km from Paje on Zanzibar’s southeast coast, roughly a 1-hour drive. The property arranges airport transfers. Daily flights connect Zanzibar with Dar es Salaam (approx. 20 min), Nairobi, Kilimanjaro, and Mombasa.
