Kahawa House is part of the Tanganyika Wilderness Camps (TWC) collection, set in a peaceful suburb of Arusha just 6km from the city centre and minutes from Arusha Domestic Airport. “Kahawa” means coffee in Swahili, and the lodge takes its character from that connection: the gardens are lush with birdsong, the restaurant emphasises fresh, locally sourced produce including organic coffee from the Ngorongoro Highlands, and the atmosphere is that of a well-appointed country house rather than a city hotel.
Thirty spacious rooms are distributed across four two-storey buildings around a central pool area. With its convenient positioning for both Arusha National Park excursions and northern circuit departures, the lodge is one of the most consistently well-regarded Arusha stopovers for travellers on their way to or from safari.
Standard Rooms and Interconnected Rooms offer a choice of king-size or twin-bed configurations, each with a private balcony, en-suite bathroom with bathtub and shower, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Arusha Airport (ARK) is approximately 3km from the lodge — around 5 minutes by road. The lodge can arrange transfers directly from the domestic terminal. Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is approximately 60 minutes by road.
