Hotel Riu Jambo is RIU Hotels & Resorts’ family-friendly flagship in Zanzibar, operating as a 24-hour all-inclusive resort on Nungwi’s celebrated beachfront. Riu Jambo translates loosely from Swahili as ‘Riu Hello’ a name chosen by RIU CEO Luis Riu as a playful tribute to the most common Swahili greeting. The hotel, which opened as RIU’s first Tanzania property in 2018, sits on approximately 200 metres of the shared Nungwi beachfront alongside sister properties Riu Palace Zanzibar and Riu Palace Swahili, with access to a stilted structure extending out over the water that is a signature architectural feature of the property.

Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) is approximately 55–60km from Nungwi, about a 1-hour drive north along the island. The hotel arranges airport transfers. Daily flights connect Zanzibar with Dar es Salaam, Nairobi, and other regional hubs.
