Baobab Central Serengeti Camp is the central Serengeti property from Baobab Lodges and Camps, a Tanzanian operator running two properties within the Serengeti National Park. The camp sits on the banks of the Orangi River, a site with a remarkable colonial history once a German and then a British gold mining station during the colonial era. Today, the location is a wildlife oasis: giraffes, zebras, and elephants regularly visit the riverbanks and camp surroundings, creating close encounters with wildlife without leaving the property.
The camp features 17–18 self-contained wooden safari tents, three of which are configured as family tents capable of accommodating up to six guests. All tents run on 100% solar power with no generator noise. The central mess tent serves as the communal dining, lounge, and bar area. The camp is known for warm, attentive service, a communal table culture that brings guests together for shared meals and evening songs and dancing from the staff team.
Seventeen to eighteen self-contained safari tents, including three family tents that interconnect to accommodate larger parties. Each tent has a queen-size bed, private bathroom with flush toilet and shower, private veranda, and 100% solar power.
Seronera airstrip is approximately 20km from the camp. Scheduled and charter flights from Arusha serve Seronera in approximately 1 hour. The camp team arranges all road transfers from the airstrip.
